Bryce

Dan and I usually take a valentines trip to celebrate. We prefer doing something together over flowers and cheesy gifts. The past two years we've gone to Zion Mtn Ranch but this year we decided to try a new place. We chose Bryce National Park because we heard that there was good skiing there and because it was the place where we got engaged, so it seemed fitting and romantic.

We made our reservations for Valentines weekend and then ended up postponing our trip for three weeks due to snow storms and me being sick. Luckily the hotel let us keep shifting our reservation with out giving us any trouble. We finally made it down there last weekend, right after a big snowstorm hit the area and right when I was the sickest unfortunately.

The first day we decided to snowshoe the rim near Sunset point. I cannot believe how stupid I was to actually do this. The wind was really whipping and it was very cold. The views were beautiful but I paid a heavy price, already being very sick. That night I coughed so hard that is scared both Dan and I. I had to sit up the whole night and no one slept except for Sara. I have no idea how she slept through it.

The next day I knew I was done and it made me really sad because I was dying to ski. At least Dan got to get out and ski so that our trip wasn't totally wasted. He had lots of fun too. He met up with a guy from West Virginia and they skied into the park breaking their own trial.

Right before we left we went on a sleigh ride. It would have been great except for the fact that the guys hooking up the horses were mean to them and the fact that Dan is deathly allergic to horses. It was an interesting experience though.

I hope we can go back here again next year and that I actually get to ski, it's a really cool place!
