Moab

We had a great time celebrating our Anniversary this year. We went to Cannon Beach the week before and then Moab for our actual Anniversary week. We had spent other Anniversaries in Moab and it just seemed like the place to be this year. Plus there is biking and grand hiking!

On our drive down to Moab, Munkey took a much needed nap. She's so cute napping.

I got a neat pic of this train just in front of the La Sal Mountains. It is carrying Uranium Mine tailings.

Of course the first thing Dan wanted to do when we arrived in Moab was go biking! So Munkey and I took a really cool hike around the Bar M ranch at sunset.

The following day we took a hike in Arches National Park to Devils Garden and Double O arch. Munkey was really sick but was asking to go anyway. Dan carried her on the 4 mile trek.

I took the opportunity to hike around on the slickrock in my Vibrams, they gripped like gecko feet.

The next night we hiked to the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in the moonlight. It was one of the most incredible things I've ever done. Luckily we've both done the trail several times but even still, hiking it in the dark was a whole other matter. Luckily we had a bit of a moon to help. The arch was magnificent in the moonlight, otherworldly. It should be on everyone's bucket list. I felt so lucky to be able to share that experience with Dan on our Anniversary. It does not get better than that.

I tried to take pics of the arch in the dark.

We stayed in a really cool place that we rented and we got it for a song due to a cancellation, so we stayed a few extra days. We were lucky that Dan's Sister, Marci and her husband Dwight could join us for the second half of the week. Dan and Dwight had fun mountain biking together on some of the slickrock trails. Marci and I did the Klondike Bluffs trail as well and had a blast (except for a sprained ankle :( Unfortunately no one took pics of the bike riding adventures.

Munkey also had a milestone on the trip. For the first time she slept in a "big girl bed". There was a bunk in the cabin and we figured why not let her try to sleep on it. She did great and we snapped this pic in the morning.

Happy Anniversary Dan, I love you! Thank you so much for a fantastic couple of weeks and for three great years of marriage!

You guys always go to the coolest places. I would love to see some of that. Like the gecko shoes too. :)
