Cannon Beach Days 3 & 4

On Cannon Beach, if you walk out to Haystack rock early, you can catch it a low tide and check out all the cool sea life.

The view looking either direction from our cabin, just amazing!

The family that bikes together...

We decided to explore Ecola State Park one day while it was too rainy to go to the beach. Might as well be in a rain forest while it's raining.

These two are always singing like they are in a musical.

Banana Slug!

At the top of the trail was a beautiful overlook to a lighthouse.

Ecola State Park beach.

After our outing at Ecola we drove south and went to the Pelican Pub and Brewery. There is nothing better than doing a pub crawl on your vacation and trying all the cool local brews.

She is a major Daddy's girl!

On the way back to the cabin, she was begging us to stop and pick blackberries so we stopped and she picked lots, by herself!

Day 4, headed home. Long drive ahead.

It was so sad to have to leave. We were even going to stay longer because Dan had the rest of the week off, but the rental was booked :( We decided to take it easy and make the drive home fun, stopping to see the sights along the way.

We stopped in Portland at

Dan had been dreaming and fantasizing about it the whole trip. All you have to do is take a look at their menu to realize this place is seriously wack. We already had in mind which donuts we wanted to get. When we walked in however they gave us the "sampler" which did not include any of the ones we wanted. So we went back.

Dan wanted this one :) If you want to confirm your worst fears, you can look it up on the menu.

Here is the treasure trove of donuts we got. We only sampled some of them and then tossed the rest. The most interesting was the bubble gum one. The best tasting and my favorite was the maple bacon!

Then we stopped off at Multnomah falls because we had just eaten too many donuts and we had a lot of damn hiking to do.

This was seriously the trip of a lifetime. I will never forget it. What a great Anniversary present. Thank you so much to my wonderful husband, Happy Anniversary! Also to my fantastic Mom for coming along with us on this adventure and tending her favorite little girl.

The tide pools and rocks are always my favorite part there! I love how you can see the wildlife up close. It really was the trip of a lifetime.
