Today we began digging our garden in its new location, between the apple and ash tree in the back yard. Unlike our garden last year that didn't do crap, this one will get much more sunlight and is right by the irrigation faucet. Also we intend on planting way before July this time.
We only got about a 2 foot wide strip of turf dug up today, Dan dug and I rolled back the turf. Sara was trying to help herself to the dirt and worms and we did try to discourage her from eating it but we let her get dirty.

Think you've got the concept: Sun, water, plant way before July, add compost! A tiller is nice too.
I completely agree with the Tiller.... we have a huge veggie garden.... used to do it without a tiller..... get a tiller :)
