Irksome Part II

Someone keyed our new car while we were parked at the Spanish Fork High School, during broad day light with lots of people around. Probably just because it still had the dealer tag on the back and it was obviously brand new. Because we have only had it for a week and because the scratch is all the way down the side, we decided to go ahead and fix it. It will be about a $1,500 job where they have to remove the panels, sand, and repaint.

I feel sorry for the person that did this. They must have a rough life to have the need to do damage like this for no reason to someone they don't even know. I hope things improve for them and I wish them good luck so that they don't feel the need to do this again to someone else. It just doesn't seem right.

From Mark

I used to get scatches all down the side of my truck when kids on bikes would try to ride between two parked cars and their handle bars would scrape one or the other or both.

I hope it wasn't just a random act of vandalism.

Yeah, that would be annoying to and could happen easily. We parked right in front of a curb at the end of a parking lot so I guess it's not too likely that a kid would ride through. Plus the scratch kind of has a "wave" effect not just a strait line. We thought of maybe someone pushing a stroller by might have scratched it too but it seems to be a metal on metal scratch due to the depth of the damage. Yeah, I'd like to believe I live in a place where someone wouldn't do this on purpose. I would feel better if it was some kid on a bike riding haphazardly.

Maybe it was a giant wonkeetonk. You know, with the wave and all.

Yeah, it was the Wonkeetonk

they have those sharp pincers and they walk all crazy like. Thanks for making me feel better.

I am amazed and impressed by your comment about the person that did that to your brand new car!! If only we all could react that way. Sorry that happened.

Guess we'd all prefer it be a Giant Wonkeetonk than a careless or worse human. I was touched by your comments too Rosey.

That just SUCKS!

And I, too, am impressed by your forgiving comments about the perpetrator. Thanks for reminding me, and all of us, of how we are taught to live but oft times forget.
